So, I got a spoof from someone targeting Earthlink users. Here are the first lines:
"Darling Earthlink services user,
This is an automated email notification sent to your registered email-address.
Please don't reply to it as it will't reach the just department."
Also:
"This requires a full update on your records matching our database information to suit the future prolongation of account billing."
I can't make up shit THAT good!
Ya know, sometimes I wonder if these people feel better about themselves because they figure they are only ripping off complete morons who would believe a letter like that. Either that, or they hope to get people for whom English is a second language and who don't realize how funny that all sounds.
Then again, they are propably non-English speaking spoofers running their text through a web translator ...
