Doyle beat Sheffield! Definitely good news. I had thought Chambliss would beat Martin by 60 - 40, and it turned out to be 58 - 42. The right-wing has been saying this is the first election of 2010, and you can expect the hardliners to use this as justification to continue their same old policies and tactics.
While the idea of the Dems having more control in the Senate might have drawn out more of the GOP, it did not have much impact on their vote. Republican Bubba McDonald beat Democrat Powell for PSC by 57 - 43, only one percent less than Chambliss got. The GOP turned out, the Dems did not, and a lot of GA Dems are blaming Obama for doing so little.
